| Vacations By Rail (Day 3) | Trondheim - Bodø | Breakfast, Dinner | 13-Feb-26 | Leaving
Trondheim early this morning after breakfast, we join the spectacular
Nordland Railway. Affectionately known as the Polar Express due to
picture-book snow scenes as it makes its way across the Arctic Circle to
Bodø, this 453-mile route passes through some of Norway's most amazing
landscapes. We witness sunrise over wintry northern Norway, passing frozen lakes, snow-covered mountains, tranquil fjords and frosted forests, enjoying a glass of cava as we celebrate crossing the Arctic Circle. Enroute, look out for reindeer in the mountains or the elusive sea eagles soaring over the picturesque coast. As the train reaches Fauske, it turns due west along the shimmering shore of Skjerstad Fjord before arriving in Bodø - known as the city with the world's most beautiful coastline. Transferring to our hotel overlooking the idyllic marina with views across to nearby islands, we enjoy dinner together. Situated above the Arctic Circle, there is a chance that we could witness the majestic Northern Lights, although our best opportunities are still to come! ----------------------------------- 06:20: One case per person with GRJ luggage label attached to TM at Reception for onward delivery to Bodø hotel via the Steinkjer-Bodø train. 06:30: Buffet breakfast. 07:00: Dep hotel by coach for Steinkjer railway station, arr 09:30. 09:51: Dep Steinkjer – 21 stops until we reach Bodø. No restaurant car – only drinks and snacks dispensing machines on train, payable by CC (bring pre-purchased food for lunch). 17:38: Arr Bodø S Station and coach transfer to hotel. 19:00: Dinner in hotel (3 Courses, tea / coffee). |

| Due to a landslide along Norway’s main highway, the Nordland line will unfortunately not be running the full route. To ensure your journey continues as smoothly as possible, we have arranged a coach to take you from Trondheim to Steinkjer. From Steinkjer, you will continue your journey to Bodø by rail as originally planned. The coach journey will take approximately two and a half hours and will include comfort stops along the way. Please be assured that the coach will follow a route similar to the original train journey and will still offer beautiful scenery throughout. | |||||||||||||

| Vacations By Rail (Day 4) | Bodø - Svolvӕr | Breakfast, Dinner | 14-Feb-26 | After
breakfast we take a scenic coach journey of around four hours, travelling
from Bodø to Bognes where we catch the ferry to Lødingen on the Lofoten
Isles. After disembarking, our scenic drive continues to Svolvær, the tiny
capital of these stunning islands, described as Europe's most dramatic and
spectacular archipelago. The Lofoten Isles are tethered to mainland Norway by a series of bridges that resemble spikey, wired teeth and we stay in this wild landscape for two nights. Set beneath the auroral oval, the Lofoten Isles are one of the world's best locations to see the Northern Lights. We venture out by coach to seek the wondrous yet elusive spectacle, before returning to our Svolvær hotel for dinner. If the weather is clear, after dinner we have another chance to experience their spectral dance for ourselves on our Northern Lights hunt. ----------------------------------- TBC: Breakfast. 08:50: Load coach and dep 09:00 for Bognes ferry. 13:45: Ferry to Lødingen, arr 14:45 and drive to Svolvær, arr approx. 16:30. 18:30: Dinner in hotel (3 Courses, tea / coffee). 21:00-23:00: Optional Northern Lights hunt (weather dependent). |

| Vacations By Rail (Day 5) | Svolvӕr | Breakfast, Dinner | 15-Feb-26 | A
scenic drive follows breakfast at our hotel, as we travel with a local guide
to one of Norway's oldest and best-preserved fishing villages, Nusfjord. Huddled around its quaint fjordside harbor we find a scattering of colorful wooden cabins, known as rorbu, painted mustard, cream and crimson. Contrasting beautifully against the craggy peaks and deep blue waters, this makes for a picture-postcard scene of Norwegian coastal life. Once home to cod fisherman who used to hang their catch outside their homes, this seafaring heritage is still visible in Nusfjord today, with former community buildings such as the old fish oil factory and smokery having been lovingly renovated. We continue amid the sensational Lofoten scenery to gorgeous Vestvågøy. This spellbinding island is renowned for its agriculture, but it is the sandy beaches, snow-capped mountains and enchanting landscapes that capture the hearts of visitors. Dinner is served back at our Svolvær hotel tonight, after which we can venture out to look for the Northern Lights. -------------------------------------- TBC: Breakfast. 08:45: Dep by coach for Leknes (69 km / 44 mi), where we meet our guide (Craig?) at 10:00 for a 4-hour tour of Nusfjord and Vestvågøy, visiting Skreda, Ramberg beach and Flakstad Church. 14:00: Guide departs and coach returns to Svolvær, ETA 15:15. 18:00: Dinner in the hotel (3 Courses, tea / coffee). 21:00-23:00: Optional Northern Lights hunt (weather dependent). |

| Vacations By Rail (Day 6) | Svolvӕr - Narvik | Breakfast, Dinner | 16-Feb-26 | Saying
farewell to Svolvær after breakfast at our hotel, we set out by coach to make
our return journey to the Norwegian mainland. The scenery is dramatic, and we
have a chance to soak up the region's natural majesty on one of the most
scenic routes in Europe, with views stretching down to magnificent fjords in
the valley below. On arrival in Narvik, we check into our hotel and have some free time to explore before dinner at the hotel. This ice-free seaport is located 250 miles north of the Arctic Circle and has a number of fascinating attractions, including the Red Cross War Memorial Museum, which documents the occupation of this vital port in World War II. Also worth a visit is the Ofoten Museum, with exhibits relating to local history and the construction of the Ofoten Railway. Narvik is also a favored winter sports destination so there is a friendly buzz about the city during the season. -------------------------------- TBC: Breakfast. 08:50: Load luggage onto coach and dep 09:00, arr approx. 13:00 followed by free time. 15:00: Check in to hotel – do visit the Tøtta Bar on Floor 16 for great views over Narvik at night. 19:00: Dinner (3 Courses, tea / coffee). |

| Ofoten Railway | 471 | Narvik | 17-Feb-26 | 10:25 | KRN - Kiruna | 17-Feb-26 | 13:47 | The Ofoten Line, also known as the Iron Ore Line, is a 43-kilometer railway line in Norway, stretching from Narvik to the Swedish border. It's Norway's northernmost railway and is notable for its historical significance in iron ore transport and its role during World War II. | |||||
| Vacations By Rail (Day 7) | Svolvӕr - Kiruna, Sweden | Breakfast, Dinner | 17-Feb-26 | A
highlight of our holiday awaits today as we travel on one of the world's most
northerly railway lines, the Ofoten Railway aboard the Arctic Train. Waking up in Narvik, we have breakfast in this city that was originally a hub to export iron ore mined near Kiruna. With miles of tundra and wilderness between the two, the Ofoten Railway was built to transport this valuable commodity from Sweden to the Norwegian port. The railway's 27-mile route was painstakingly carved out of the mountains in an incredible engineering project - largely undertaken by hand - and it takes us across the Swedish border, through barren plateaus and alongside steep mountains to Kiruna, Swedish Lapland's largest city. On arrival in Kiruna, we transfer to our accommodation in Camp Ripan. Surrounded by forests and rolling hills, we spend two nights in individual cabins. Not only is there chance of seeing wildlife strolling by, but it's also an excellent place to view the Northern Lights. There is free time this afternoon to relax or enjoy the spa facilities before we have dinner. ------------------------------- 06:30 onwards: Breakfast. 09:30: Load cases onto our coach for onward transportation to the Kiruna hotel (hand luggage only on train). 09:40: Dep by coach for Narvik railway station (10 mins) – please ensure that your passports are carried with you. There is a café at the station for coffees, etc. There should be a restaurant car on the train, but it can be a bit ‘hit and miss’ and sometimes does not open until we reach the Swedish border, so it would be worth buying something for lunch to eat on the journey, just in case. N.B: ‘Plan B’. If the train is cancelled because of bad weather, we will go by coach direct to Kiruna, probable with a lunch stop at the Abisko National Park Turiststasjon. 10:25: Dep on Ofoten train to Kiruna S station, arr 13:47. The rooms at the Camp Ripan hotel will not be available until 16:00, so the coach will drive us to the ‘new’ town centre to explore (food options, the church that moved, the town hall etc). The coach will then take us to the hotel at 15:45. 16:00: On arrival, please remain on the coach whilst TM goes to Reception to obtain chalet details. There is a luggage transfer service to move cases to the chalets: when advised, please collect your own cases from the coach and bring them to the side of the main building where the TM will provide room labels for each case, then please take them to the waiting baggage truck – your cases will then be delivered to your chalet porch. 19:00: Dinner in hotel (3 Courses, tea / coffee). |

| Vacations By Rail (Day 8) | Kiruna | Breakfast, Lunch | 18-Feb-26 | We
discover the lives and culture of Scandinavia's indigenous people after
breakfast today as we embrace a special Sámi experience. We travel to a Sámi
village where we a local guide introduces us to the reindeer. These animals
are very important to the Sámi way of life as many people are involved in
semi-nomadic reindeer herding. We also get the opportunity to feed these
beautiful animals. As we learn more about life in the picturesque camp, we
enjoy a Sámi-style lunch in a traditional tent called a 'lavvu' and listen to
age-old folk tales. In the afternoon we visit Kiruna's world-famous Ice Hotel. This spectacular monument is constructed afresh every year since 1989 from huge, hand-sculpted blocks of ice sourced from the nearby river. We tour its frozen rooms with a guide before donning warming clothes to visit the Ice Bar for a chilled drink served in ice glasses. We are then transferred back to Camp Ripan for a relaxed evening in our private cabins. --------------------------------- 06:30-10:00: Breakfast. 10:45: Dep by coach for the Sámi Camp (a 20 mins journey). Loos available on arrival. 11:30: A one-hour guided tour through the Sámi Camp on Jukkasjärvi’s old market, where we will have Sámi culture explained to us and visit different buildings and exhibits. We will also visit the reindeer, which are very important both culturally and as resources in the Sámi society, and we will be able to feed them in their enclosure with lichen. 12:30: A two-course lunch comprising the Region´s mushroom soup and Suovas, the Sámi signature dish of lightly salted and cold-smoked reindeer steak, thinly sliced and fried in a pan over open flames and served on Gahkku, a Sámi flatbread with lingonberry jam. The food is served on palm leaf plates, and lingonberry juice and coffee are served in guksi/birch wood cups. There is also a gift shop in the main building. 14:00: Dep by coach for the Ice Hotel (a 5 mins journey). On arrival, please remain on the coach whilst the TM reports to Reception to check in (this can take some time – 20 mins last January – and you are safer and warmer on the coach). When ready, we will then walk to meet our guide. 15:00: A guided tour of the complex, followed by free time to explore. The complex is rebuilt each year using ice blocks from the local river, and competitions are held between ice sculptors to create the individual rooms. During the tour, a drink will be served from ice glasses at the ice bar. 17:00: Coach dep for the hotel, arr 17:45. 18:30: Optional coach to Kiruna town centre – but make your own return arrangements. |

| Vacations By Rail (Day 9) | Kiruna | Breakfast, Dinner | 19-Feb-26 | Enjoying
breakfast at our beautiful hotel, we look forward to an amazing morning
excursion - a unique husky safari experience. With a pack of energetic huskies at the helm, steered by an expert guide, we set out on a large sled through the snowy scenery. Our trip takes us through a winter wonderland on a thrilling ride that's been part of Scandinavia's snow-laden culture for generations. We stop midway through this fantastic trip to warm up and enjoy the atmospheric views. Here, we take part in a traditional Swedish 'fika' - another of the country's most cherished traditions. Gathering round a campfire, we enjoy a hot drink and a Swedish sandwich. Around midday, a coach transfers us back to Camp Ripan, where there is an afternoon to unwind or wander through the birch forests of the Midnattssolstigen (Midnight Sun Trail) that passes by our camp. This evening, we enjoy a farewell dinner together at the hotel's restaurant. ----------------------------------- 06:30-10:00: Breakfast. 09:20: Meet at hotel ready to depart by coach at 09:30 for the safari. The coach cannot drive the whole way and the final 300m will be on foot along a flat snow-covered road. 09:50: Arrive at the safari complex, orientation and safety briefing and then first sleds depart at 10:00. 13:00 approx: Dep safari and return to hotel. The afternoon is at leisure. Last January, some customers booked spa treatments at the hotel or visited Kiruna using the coach to drop off on the return journey to the hotel (making their own back), or took the snow-scooter or snow-shoe tours. 18:30: Final Tour Dinner at hotel (3 Courses, tea / coffee). |

| Vacations By Rail (Day 10) | Kiruna - Stockholm | Breakfast | 20-Feb-26 | After
our final breakfast at fantastic Camp Ripan, we transfer by coach to Kiruna
airport for a connecting flight to Stockholm. From the capital, passengers
take the internal flight from Kiruna to Stockholm and after that are free to
make their way home. Saying farewell to our fellow travelers and Tour Manager, we look back on the fantastic experiences that have enchanted us along the way from Trondheim to Kiruna. Discovering the colorful buildings showcased the long history of the Viking capital, before we travelled to Bodø and on to the Lofoten Islands. This charming archipelago revealed jaw-dropping views and idyllic fishing villages, while the Ofoten Railway carried us across the border into Sweden. Kiruna's picture-perfect winter scenes delighted us as we discovered the culture of the Sámi people, embraced the beauty of the Ice Hotel and enjoyed an amazing ride on a husky sled. And, of course, hopefully we saw the magical Northern Lights! --------------------------------------------- 06:30-10:00: Breakfast. TBC: Luggage to be left on chalet steps for porterage service to the main building. TBC: Meet at the hotel and load luggage onto coach, then dep for Airport. At the Airport we say farewell and thanks to our coach driver (who has been with us since Bodø). Your hold baggage is checked in electronically at the airport and will be collected at ARN. Please note that there are no café facilities until after clearing Security. 10:35: Dep Kiruna for Stockholm Arlanda Airport on SK1041, arr at 12:20 |
